Record player unit

Here is our beautiful record player unit that Greg threw together over Christmas… okay so maybe he didn’t throw it together, it was more a labour of love!

We eventually got the chance to use corian which is a quality and versatile solid surface material, it joins with a special glue that leaves joints almost invisible, it sands and also engraves well. We chose a matte finish white corian and used it for edging the front of the unit and the front of the draws. The idea was to juxtapose this with dark stained timber for a striking effect.

The timber we used was 25mm pine throughout, this was a bit thicker than we had thought we would use in planing but it meant we could safely curve the corners more if we wanted and make a unit that would last a long time (next Christmas Greg will want to take time off not fix a cabinet!)
