A 3D logo for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals showing their event hashtag. This prop was part of promotional imagery and also the launch party player photographs. The logo consists of solid model board, a spray paint finish in the brand colour, and also a felt base.
Construction
First of all, we etched the shape on the model board with a laser cutter. As a result, we could use the marking as a guide to cut the text out with a scroll saw. With steady hands and lots of patience, it was possible to create it from one single piece at 50mm thickness. With the cutting complete we could move on to sanding and paint finish. After the piece was sanded smooth and a layer of primer laid down, we spray painted the piece in ATP brand blue. Finally, the logo had a coat of lacquer and we attached a felt base for protection.
