Costa Coffee launched the Frostino drink and commissioned a diamond encrusted cup from renowned jeweller Mappin & Webb to celebrate. We were approached to produce 5 replica prop models as part of a marketing campaign. Ultimately the models were to be displayed in flagship stores and then given away as gifts and competition prizes.
The main bulk of the cups were formed in plastic to give a solid shape and surface. It was then the painstaking process of applying approximately 30,000 tiny Swarovski Crystals to the surface. Various diameter crystals were used to create the pattern and red crystals inlaid for the Costa logo. All of these were applied individually, and by hand! The models were mounted to CNC milled plinths with inlaid laser cut acrylic panels for added luxury. They were finished with a clear acrylic display case and polished stainless steel plaque.
